NorthStarWorldwide is an ideal support for small and medium sized international schools, around the world, that find it a challenge to provide a full range of subjects at secondary level. It is also an excellent way to enable schools, currently offering American curriculum, to expand their options to parents by providing a range of British orientated subjects without requiring additional expert teaching staff.
Our tutors have experience of working with schools in a number of countries, offering a flexible, professional and cost-effective service.
If you have a need for curricular and tutorial support for pupils aged 11-14 or for those studying GCSE and IGCSE, then NorthStarWorldwide can meet that need. NorthStarWorldwide can provide curriculum and tutorial support for just one subject or for our whole secondary curriculum. This makes it possible for successful Christian primary schools and small missions schools to move easily into the area of secondary education. The benefits for Christian schools include:
- Enables schools to easily offer a wide range of GCSE/IGCSE subjects very quickly;
- Complete flexibility for students in choosing combinations of GCSE/IGCSE;
- Substantially reduces the need to find specialist teaching staff;
- High quality tutorial support;
- Easily accommodates fluctuations in student numbers.
In each school we ask that a member of staff is appointed as NorthStarWorldwide liaison teacher. The role of the liaison teacher is critical and we are able to provide detailed guidance on what this role requires. The liaison teacher and other senior staff at the school are able to email NSW staff at any time and all web browsers are supported, although we really do quite like Firefox! We aim to reply to your emails within 72 hours (during NSW term time and excluding weekends). NorthStarWorldwide can provide detailed information about student progress and official reports to fit in with the schools’ reporting schedule.
Haiku provides students with a central, easy to access learning environment, enabling tutors to place lessons in online courses ready for the student to download at their convenience. Once uploaded, lessons remain on NSWHaiku for the whole of the academic year, making it possible for the student to download lessons as many times as necessary, when accessing material from multiple computers.
No software needs to be installed on school computers in order to access our learning environment and just about every modern web browser is supported. Students can even access NSWHaiku from their homes without any additional security requirements!
